Charter Bus Rental Tips for Prom

Prom season is now in full swing and if your thinking about chartering a bus for prom, here a couple of tips to follow.
1. Always have an adult over the age of 18 handle your charter bus or limousine bus reservations. Minors are not allowed by law to enter into contracts and your charter agreement could be deemed not legal or enforcable.
2. Always ask to see photos of the bus you are getting and when possible, ask the company to guarranty you in writing that you will get this bus, subject to conditions beyond their control.
3. Inspect the bus whenever possible.
4. Ask for proof of insurance from the company you will be riding with. You need to know that they have the required amount of insurance.
5. Do not attempt to bring any alcoholic beverages on the bus. The legal drinking age in most States is 21 and most legitimate companies can and will terminate a charter if there is alcohol on the bus.
6. Have a well planned itinerary. The last thing a driver wants is 35 people telling him where to go, especially when they all want to go some place different. Appoint someone in your group as the group leader.
7. Check the bus for your belongings when your charter is over and "never" leave valuables like camera's or other items on the bus. Make sure the driver is staying with your group and not departing for another charter and will enforce the rule of not allowing anyone on the bus other than people in your group.
8. Find out if the bus has a CD player and DVD and if so, be sure to bring your own music and movies.
9. When collecting monies from various people in your group, do so by cash and make sure you account for the driver's gratuity and how you might handle overtime.
